Note: This page had a bunch of running info. I'm crappy at making backups and apparently lost the data on an upload recently. I'll try to piece it back together...

Then
Born in Philadelphia in 1982. Moved to Northern VA in 1986. Attended public schools, played tuba, played all the usual sports, ran in high school (won cross-country team state championship in 1998), was always considered the class clown (won "Funniest" senior superlative along with "most spirited"), began working at a desk when I was 16, worked at a bike shop, got in to biking, always loved video games, didn't get a NES until 2002. Went to college (James Madison University), played a lot of video games, got in to cars, started racing cars (legally), aspired to make video games, graduated with a degree in Computer Science, got a job at a major ISP. After a little over a year things went downhill at the ISP (my job was sent to India) and I found myself at Anystream.

Now
I have a sweet girlfriend named Caitlin. In the rare free time that I have, I can be found racing cars (and working on them), traveling, pretending I know how to take good pictures, playing video games, reading magazines (I subscribe to Scuba Diver, Grassroots Motorsports, ReadyMade, and Best Life), running, climbing, biking, partying in the DC area (Adams Morgan most often), listening to all types of music or doing one of my bajillion other interests. Most often though, you'll find me working... I live in North Arlington with some roommates. It is a pretty cool location.

The Site
I've had a personal website since about 1994. At first I had a site on GeoCities hosting game demos, reviews, etc. I quickly exceeded my bandwidth (duh, 12 year olds don't think about that sort of thing beforehand) and moved to a site with the creators of HappyPuppy on KickAss.com (they folded, not worksafe anymore) and then finally on to my own venture with a friend called GamesPlanet. After that went sour I met the guy that eventually went on to create Napster. We were planning on starting a business for miscellaneous services, but I was young, he was in trouble a lot, and the parents simply wouldn't go for it. A few years later, he had his fifteen minutes of fame, I haven't heard from him since about 1998. In college I hosted my site (themikecam.net) straight off my machine until file sharing hit its peak and ports were blocked. I then moved to mjcomputer.net in 2003 and created the version of the site that you see today as an experiment in PHP. It worked pretty well if you ask me :P My host sucked, I lost my domain, and here I am today hosted by IPowerWeb. The site is written entirely in Vim using PHP/HTML/MySQL, powered by CuteNews + phpGraphy + TrainLog, changes are uploaded with FileZilla, and all is "tested" in Firefox.
