New Testament. I actually might put this project on hold... It's already not drawing my interest and each time I start a new book I've been punching myself for not finish the Harry Potter series. Haha @ priorities.

So apparently getting sick, drinking beer, and buffets is the secret to losing weight! I didn't eat much today because I'm still full from yesterday, and the scale showed 173! I guess I did it? I'll reweigh tonight, but this is the scale I've been using for about 5 years now; it's accurate for me.

I also need to add that not ending sentences with prepositions and not splitting infinitives are two grammar rules that are commonly believed to exist but in fact do not. As Churchill is purported to have said, "That is the sort of nonsense up with which I will not put." When people quote either of those rules I immediately discount most other grammar suggestions they give me.
geordie said the following on Aug 21 2010 @ 10:50AM in Things I Learned Today: Toward or...:
The problem is that usage drives grammar not the other way around, despite what grammarians wished the world was like. Despite that I think it violates all that is good and right in the universe I have to admit that spelling lose with two o's is now an alternative spelling. And yes an apostrophe is used on lower case letters to pluralize them.

Here's a good one for you though; I am editing a memoir/novella that has a fair number of scenes that take place on the veldt. Since Oryx is a genus name should I capitalize it in a sentence such as, "The lion ate the Oryx."? Another conundrum was capitalization of ridgeback. Rhodesian Ridgeback is clearly capitalized but when used without the Rhodesian should it be? What about ridgie?

I look A LOT of stuff up. = incorrect use, don't end a sentence with a preposition

CORRECTION: I look up a lot of stuff.

First comment - the easiest way to remember former and latter is to think of "latter" as "late"...so it is the latest word or thing in the sentence.

Second comment - this all comes from the boy who emailed me yesterday and said "I think she is like twenty". Hmmm

As you know I replaced my 45 minute commute (each way) with a workout and lost 30 pounds. I will say though that when Josh and I used to drive in every once and awhile aligning our schedules was more complicated than you might think. I am so much happier working from home, although I have been commuting into DC a couple of days a week for the last month and it's actually been a reasonably good place to get some planing/strategizing/thinking done.

I knew I was low on energy before the race even started... I threw down a couple cookies (I have a full box leftover, which I'll bring to work tomorrow to get all of you fat), and some Gatorade, but it didn't help. I don't know if I buy the meat bit; Josh is a vegetarian and ran 12.4 miles today... Most likely at a faster pace than my 4.5 tongue
