I've added yet another new feature to the site. In the menu bar, you'll see "Recent Comments." Previously, unless you were a registered user (I'm the only one), you would have to hunt around to see if anyone ever replied to something you had said (I get e-mails). As such, threads often died prematurely. With this new feature, hopefully y'all can keep better tabs on what's going on and where.
Thoughts on the formatting of the page? I tried to make it look like comments on a regular post.
This was a fun experiment in PHP, which I know, but don't. I borrowed a
good portion of the code, but expanded on it quite a bit. Two days, three technologies... I think I'm good on site changes for another year or two.

| I'll look into making it an RSS feed, but I'm not sure it can happen [too much work]. Jess, the only mechanism for getting e-mails is if you register for the site [something I have closed off] you can change your preferences to send you an e-mail EVERY time a comment is posted. If you're not me, that's kind of overkill. |

So I looked into making an RSS feed. I can do it, but in reality, who will really follow it? I only have limited space on my Google Homepage... I wouldn't want to waste space with a comment feed. Would you? I know two of you would, but are a couple hours of my time worth that?
I also looked into the e-mail thing and I'd have to write something pretty serious to make it happen. As my PHP skills are "I can take something pre-made and make nice modifications to it," I'm going to say it's not going to happen. |
