I returned last night from my 3rd trip to Vegas. The trip was a bit more tame as it wasn’t the 1st trip for many of the participants, but it was still a very good time, and a worthy sending off for our latest husband-to-be, Butter.
We stayed at the Aria, which was a pretty nice place, but one could tell the whole City Center construct is not paying off. The decor was great, but something about it simply wasn’t cohesive…
On the gambling front, I started the trip off with a quick loss in Craps, followed by a few days of pretty much breaking even at Blackjack. I ended the trip with a visit to the bookie. Go Skins, and go USA!
Food-wise, we kept it fairly simple with eating around the hotel and a trip to Hofbrau House to cap the trip. Note: 7lbs of sausage and copious amounts of beer do not equal a stellar night to follow. We were all in food coma/stomach pain and really didn’t do much that final night.
We clubbed it up at Pure again via our contact/host last go-around. Was a good time, but we got taken advantage of a bit… We won’t be using him again.
Overall, a good, relatively tame trip. I left a few hundred bucks poorer, but the entertainment was more than worth it, and I think we gave the bachelor a good sending-off.
Back to the grind, I’ve got quite a few things on my plate… Still need to finish unpacking, need to do some emergency car repair (I’m really loathing the idea of working in a hot parking lot), need to do some bicycle repair, I have some pressing side-business matters, and all the while I need to figure out how to maintain a decent work/life balance through all this. It’s looking to be a tiring month.
