So this whole brain cancer thing has been one bad report after another… We were hopeful we’d someday receive some good news, and we finally have. It still doesn’t mean much since this whole thing can come and kick our asses from out of nowhere in a couple of days, BUT… Mom’s most recent MRI
Yesterday was the 14th Annual Race for Hope in Washington, D.C. Shortly after Mom was diagnosed with a Grade IV glioblastoma, the husband of a former coworker of hers signed up for the fundraiser/race to honor my mom and raise funds for research into brain tumor cures and set a goal of [I think] $1000.
As I don’t have the time right now to migrate to a new backend, I’ve implemented some changes that should thwart spammers a tiny bit. Got my first flat tire on a solo ride EVER on Monday night. I seem to avoid flats better than most for some reason; only two road flats and one mountain flat in the years and years and years I’ve been riding. Sure, many of those years didn’t contain much mileage, but still. As always,
The “24hr stomach flu.” Had it? I have… yesterday. Worst I’ve felt in as long as I can remember (at least a decade). I slept 22 hours yesterday and still managed a full night’s sleep last night. Woke up feeling at least 95%. Pretty incredible considering how I felt last night. Apparently the littlest Ms.
In one of Mom’s early post-op MRI’s, the doctors saw another small mass elsewhere in her brain. Could have been a fatty deposit, calcium deposit, or… another tumor. If it was another tumor, that bodes really badly as, obviously, the cancer is spreading. We just received confirmation that it is in fact another tumor. This
