I can sum up this year by one word, and that is “bummer.” In all four of my leagues, I started off great, but the shit eventually hit the fan.

League 1 (AOL people who are alll now at Fannie Mae): The league is for some good money… Yes, illegal gambling. I started off 6-2, but lost Daunte Culpepper, Priest Holmes, and Brian Westbrook down the stretch. That is bad news and resulted in me losing 6 straight. In the playoffs I lost in the first round and won in the second resulting in a 7th place finish out of 10. My players of the year in this league ending up being Chris Cooley and Chad Johnson because we honor 1 point per catch… Cooley I got very late in to the draft as well… I don’t expect to have the same luck next year.

League 2 (Gaming geeks): This league was a pretty easy one, and I had the best team (most point scored), but they were just too inconsistent. I had a star at every position, but my highest scorer was the Giants defense. Odd, cause their secondary is awful. I’ll have to take a look at how this league was scored. Anyway, games were either blowouts in my favor or close ones in their favor. I finished 3rd out of 10.

League 3 (Anystream, my company): This was a bad one. My autodraft went really poorly, which left me searching the free agent list every week for my running backs and wide outs. In a league this big, that is a very bad thing. I ended the season with none of my Week 1 starters in those positions. Midway in to the season I traded Ahman Green and Byron Leftwich for Daunte Culpepper and Rudi Johnson. Ahman went on the IR the week we traded and Daunte went on it the week after so in essence I traded Byron for Rudi. This turned out favorable for both parties because I really needed a consistent Rb and he really needed a QB (I had two decent ones). Although I finished 15th out of 16, I did beat the two teams who finished the season at the top, beat two of three of my closest coworkers, and scored enough point to rank me (pointwise) at around 7th. My MVP? Jack Delhomme, whom I hate. Nobody on my team (save Rudi Johnson who I got late) had half as many points. That is how bad it was…

League 4 (Honda-Tech): This was my third year as the commish of this league and the first year that I did poorly. Just as in all my other league (but one), I had serious injury issues. Unfortunately, this was also a large league (like the Anystream one) and I couldn’t get squat off the waiver wire. I started off 3-0, but then dropped nine of the next ten with some absolutely awful performances. I lost Julius Jones mid season for a few weeks, Ahman Green went down, Chad Pennington went down (forcing me to rely on the unpredictable Michael Vick), and Michal Clayton didn’t do squat. I ended up starting Ricky Williams for most of the season… I picked him up in the last round in all of my leagues. It ate a roster spot, but actually paid off in the end. Next year I will be adding 1 point per reception, limiting the league to ten, and implementing a $5 buy-in. MVP? Michael Vick, whom I hate.
