I had heard decent things about this game, so when I had the chance to pick it up used at Best Buy for $10, I did just that. By looking at the cover I was really turned off by the “alternate universe” in which you have sky piracy and these futuristic, yet old planes doing battle (think: Red Baron with missiles and laser guns), but the environment turned out to not be too bad. The graphics and immense feeling of the world were definately positive points, but the incredibly linear and weak plot was a huge negative. What is weird is there is sort of like a mission selector, but only one mission is available at any one time; leading me to believe that bigger things were planned for this game, but they just ran out of time and chose to just go with the single storyline. MAJOR weak point. The multiplayer option I was able to hop in to before ever having played the single player and consistently finish in the top few, very lame. Overall, the game felt like a task, very repetitive and linear. If you can pick this up for a single digit dollar figure, it may be worth the price of admission, but that is debateable.
