This is freaking huge… I am beginning to love Dan Snyder, but just a little.
This is freaking huge… I am beginning to love Dan Snyder, but just a little.
This is why I hate the Redskins so much. Their fans are so quick to say they hate this or that and then turn around and say they love the very same thing.
It was a mere two months ago that Skins fan were saying Gibbs was too old fashoned and needed to go. Now that they’re in the playoffs he’s the second coming of Christ.
Is your team in the playoffs? If they were I bet you\’d be praising someone.
I knew you’d say that and it has nothing to do with Redskins fans other than it being a common tactic to deflect criticism.
I expected them to make it this year so I would not be praising anyone but Allah for keeping everyone healthy.
Even if I did choose to praise someone for a job well done it wouldn’t be someone I was cursing earlier in the season.
Obviously I’m not saying that all Skins fans are fickle but growing up here not one has shown me that a good majority of them are.
P.S. – The only thing worse than Skins fans are Eagles fans.
And the only thing worse than Eagles fans are Cowboys fans who grew up in this area. I know your story, you\’re only partially one, but the ones who are fans just because they want to annoy all their Redskin fan friends…
Also note that I did not praise Gibbs in this post. You were the one who seemingly came out of nowehere with that one.
the main thing I’ve ever criticized Gibbs for (and it’s the same thing most other people have too) is that the play calling is too conservative. But that’s changed – Gibbs and his offense have adapted and a long pass is no longer unheard of. Hell, against the Eagles both Moss and Thrash were seen running down the sidelines during the same play. Our offense is now becoming slightly “explosive” which is a pretty damn big deal.
Snyder still sucks for his fantasy-football type of hiring in the beginning but it looks like Gibbs has gotten him to settle down and everything is going to be ok. This could have some bad ramifications though – coaches salaries are a part of the salary cap aren’t they? what if this keeps us from keeping certain players or bringing in new ones?
fun side story –
Are coach salaries part of the cap? They aren\’t in Madden so I assumed they weren\’t in real life, since video games are life… Ya know?
google knows all..
Question 1.4
Who falls under the Salary Cap?
Answer: The “Team Salary” falls under the Salary Cap. Team salary includes the amount a team must pay its current or former players under their player contracts. Notice emphasis on the word PLAYERS. The salary cap does not apply to coaches, assistants, trainers, and other personnel. Only the top 51 player salaries for a team count against the salary cap in the offseason. During the season, all player salaries count toward the salary cap.

Anyone else doing that would have been tossed. [thumbdown]
P.S. – I hate people who say they’re Cowboys fans just to hate on the Skins too… mostly because I’m sick of getting called one.
There were actually a handful of guys in the top 25 salary list from last year that I have never even heard of! [tongue]
Mike – Where is your New Years Eve write-up?
There isn\’t much to write up, but I will be summarizing the past two weekends in one.
Dayuuummm… you got carried.
