I haven’t seen such a thought provoking movie in quite a while. Sure, there have been a lot of movies that have induced thought, but not about them, but instead the world or life or something. With this movie, I’m actually thinking about the movie, and every time I do I realize something new. Pretty cool stuff.

While it is certainly not the best American film ever made (many argue that it is), I did enjoy it. I think I’ll start buying more old films; what they lack in effects they have to make up with actually story, kind of like old video games.

Also of note was that the White Stripes “Union Forever” was from this movie. When I heard the people singing I was like “I know those lyrics! WTF” and scrambled to the computer’s aide to figure out where I knew them from.

I plan on watching the 2-hour documentary that came with it in the next couple of days. Apparently it is all about how William Randolph Hearst fought against the release of Citizen Kane because it was so much a protrait of his life.

Kinda freaky, I just looked up all of the credited actors. They are all dead aside from one, Kane at Age 8 (Sonny Bupp), who hasn’t been in a film since 1943 (age of 15)… Weirdness defined!
