So two weekends ago I went out the track in the hatch. In preparation I had gotten a new windshield, did some carpet trimming, cleaned the interior, changed the oil, swapped on some stiffer springs, and that is about it. The weekend went great, I had no offs and the car came back in the same basic shape that it went in. I did a compression test as well, but that showed that my motor wasn’t as bad as I thought, which leads me to believe a leakdown test is in order. I’m definitely down on power somewhere. I gave rides to people on all but one of my sessions and it was one of the first times I actually enjoyed doing so; everyone got out with a smile on their face (except Navin who wanted to puke). I think that’s a good thing for me, it leads me to believe I’m getting more relaxed out there and worrying less about the car and such. My exhaust rotted through at some point so I ended up taking off the b-pipe. The car sounded really good after doing that, but now I need to figure out some solution because no exhaust = bad idea when you have to drive the car to the track. Hrmph, maybe I’ll just suck it up and buy a truck? Saturday night consisted of driving (not me) around WV with a tapped keg in the backseat, heading to my favorite place in the world (Vixens), and passing out on a couch in someone’s motorhome… Good times. Oh yeah, my friend Ryan also managed to pull 2nd in his first race and 1st in his 2nd race. Holla!

The following weekend I went down to JMU for our annual car show. In preparation I washed the S in a horrific thunderstorm, and even cleaned my engine bay! The car looked money and apparently I got 4th out of the imports. Not bad for a stock car! I’m serious, the thing was super clean. Anyway, it rained the entire day of the car show, which really sucked, but it could have been worse. The guys did a great job pulling the show off, but the weather was most unfortunate. That night we held a party, which included a keg of Newcastle and two crappy beers. A keg of Newcastle is awesome… I managed to drink a ton of it as Maeng and I held the beer pong table most of the night. On the downside, at a school that is 60% female, there is no way in hell a party should contain maybe 8% females (no, I’m not exagerrating). I’m thinking of actually heading back down there for my masters just to breath some life in to these guys  Rolling through campus two S2000s deep was pretty awesome, we were getting stares all over the place. I felt like the superstar that I am… My friend Ryan (see the end of the last paragraph) also managed to wreck his motorcycle by being an idiot in a parking lot. I think that set back my bike purchase by a few months or years. Thanks, ass.
