Forgive me… I’ve been bad and busy. Over the past week I’ve: <br/><br/><li>had dinner in Adams Morgan at <a href=”http://www.lauriolplaza.com/” target=”_blank”>Lauriol Plaza</a>, which was awesome. Started with a mango margarita, which was overpriced, but good. They had some GREAT chips and salsa (better than <a href=”http://www.chevys.com/” target=”_blank”>Chevy’s</a>) and then an even better Carne Asada that just melted in my mouth. If you do happen to order the Carne Asada, be careful with the pepper they serve with it; it managed to make nearly everyone at the table die from just a lick. <br/><br/><li>took a stroll around the <a href=”http://www.nps.gov/thje/” target=”_blank”>Jefferson Memorial</a> after the above dinner; I’d recommend everyone check out the monuments at night… Very cool stuff. At one spot you can even see the Washington Monument, US Capital, and Jefferson Memorial in one view. I need to head back with a tripod and my camera.<br/><br/><li>rode my bike to work for nearly 2 straight weeks. My car has gone through half a tank of gas in that time, when I used to fill it up every single week. The bike really is saving me money… I just have to risk my life in the process :wink:<br/><br/><li>celebrated Dave’s 24th birthday with a night of beer pong… My partner and I lost in triple overtime game by one cup.<br/><br/><li>celebrated a belated Father’s Day (my sister belated it, I took my Dad out on the actual day) by visiting <a href=”http://www.topgolfusa.com/” target=”_blank”>TopGolf</a>, where I dominated. We then went over to <a href=”http://www.greatamericanrestaurants.com/mikesmain/mikes-mainpage.htm” target=”_blank”>Mike’s American Grill</a>, which was good, but had 99% of the same menu items as <a href=”http://www.greatamericanrestaurants.com/mainpage/sweetwater-chooser.htm” target=”_blank”>Sweetwater Tavern</a>. I know they’re owned by the same parent company, but at least have different menus!<br/><br/><li>ran 15 miles over the past week or so and feel great. Funny, I used to loathe running, but now I can’t seem to sleep without going out for a mile or two. This has allowed me to begin regular night trips to <a href=”http://www.krispykreme.com/” target=”_blank”>Krispy Kreme</a>, which my Dad claims has heavier donuts than <a href=”http://www.dunkindonuts.com/” target=”_blank”>Dunkin’ Donuts</a>. Yeah, he isn’t the brightest, but who can blame him at his age?<br/><br/><li>updated my <a href=”http://iammike.org/index.php?loc=schedule”>schedule</a> with some races. My first one is in Arlington this Thursday! I’m shooting for sub-22, but who knows. It is quite depressing as I used to run a 5k in under 17 minutes.<br/><br/>Tonight I’m heading to the <a href=”http://www.guster.com/” target=”_blank”>Guster</a> concert at <a href=”http://www.wolf-trap.org/” target=”_blank”>Wolf Trap</a>.
