Yay for Labor Day weekend!
Friday
Watched Pi (review coming) for the 2nd time.
Saturday and Sunday
Did some major work on the Chris Cooley wikipedia article Saturday morning; hopefully I’ll be able to get an interview with Chris for some more information.
Headed to Solomons, MD w/ Caitlin to her family’s place. They bought some land about a billion years ago and slowly built a house on it starting 25 years ago (still not completely finished, but pretty impressive nonetheless). Met pretty much her entire family, spent some time on a jet ski, ate some great food, threw her in the water, and played with kids. I actually remembered being down that way for a baseball tournament when I was little; I recognized the sign at the nuclear power plant
Monday
Spent the day in Old Town Alexandria. I hadn’t been in a few years and really wanted to check out The Torpedo Factory. The trip started off with calls to our parents, which resulted in my parents meeting Caitlin’s Mom and nieces. We got ice cream, I put together her Mom’s biking shoes, and then we were on our own. Torpedo Factory was underwhelming. I liked the art of very few people, and some of them I’d go so far as to say actually sucked; the photography especially.
And now I’m back at work with very little to do because our code tree is broken. I should have stayed in bed…
