With a horrificly stagnant offense this season, Gibbs made the move we have all been anticipating for a year, he brought in Jason Campbell. Some argue that it was too early, but having shown some spark last year, and really not doing too much wrong this year, Brunell deserved to stay until now.

The season a wash, Campbell looked quite good in his first outing. No mistakes, a great arm, mobility, and maintained his head under pressure. Following his drafting, I wasn’t too sure about his ability since I had never seen him, but if game one was any indication, we’ve got a star at last… I hope… I think… Seriously, 17 starting QBs over the past 15 years is a bit embarassing.

In other news, the Skins need an identity. With more coaches than any team in the league, there are too many facets bidding for attention. We need a head coach, we need an offensive coordinator, and we need a defensive coordinator. That is all! Anyone else with a title needs to lose it. Sure, we can have a QB coach, RB coach, OL coach, WR coach, DL coach, LB coach, and DB coach, but that is where it ends. These guys are coaches, not decision makers. They can chat with the coordinators before the games, but they ought to have their own seating section during the games. Heck, maybe they already do. In that case, their input needs to be valued much less.

Poor Skins, another difficult season to watch. On the bright side, I no longer feel obligated to devote three hours of my life every Sunday to watching them, but I probably will anyway just to follow Campbell’s progress.
