No better way to stick to a goal than to tell others about it. Peer pressure owns! My resolution is to run a half-marathon. I really want to run a full one, but rather than half-ass it like so many people do, I want to actually do well so rather than set myself up for disaster, I made my goal attainable. “Doing well” is arbitrary, but I’ve got an idea in my head… If I’m dead last, I didn’t do well. If I place around middle of the pack for my age group, I’ll be happy. I’d also like to run a sub-20 5k, but that is a secondary goal that will likely occur by default if I attain the main one so I’m not going to worry about that too much.

Happy New Year!
