[b]September 11th Security Fee 5.00 [/b]<br/><br/>Yes, that is an item on my receipt from a recent travel booking. I didn’t ask for this fascist security that slows me down by approximately 20 minutes every time I travel. Those of you who are able to check-in quickly should not bother to say “The wait isn’t so bad.” I have to wait in line every time, have the attendant call the TSA (assuming they know what to do, most do not), and confirm my identity. If I were ever in a hurry, I’d miss my flight. Regardless, I live here, I have to play by the rules, right? I can handle that, BUT FOR GOD’S SAKE CAN WE PLEASE GET OVER SEPTEMBER 11TH?<br/><br/>Am I the only one who is fed up with hearing about this and that? All these new rules from September 11th.”We have to live this way after September 11th,” “Life is this way after September 11th,” et cetera. It was just a day, it was unfortunate, and I have great sympathy for those families, but we need to move on. Seriously, how many attacks have been thwarted due to these ridiculous security measures? I can’t think of any. Please don’t say “we didn’t hear about them because they didn’t happen.” You know as well as I do that if Bushiepoo had a positive effect on anything, it’d be he only thing we heard on the news for weeks.<br/><br/>If I have to live with this fee, at least just lump in to the taxes. I’m [i]really[/i] tired of us September 11thing everything.

The 2004 U.K. Plot: In the spring of 2004, the United States and partners, using a combination of law enforcement and intelligence resources, disrupted a plot to conduct large-scale bombings in the United Kingdom.
The 2002 Arabian Gulf Shipping Plot: In late 2002 and 2003, the United States and a partner nation disrupted a plot by al Qaeda operatives to attack ships in the Arabian Gulf.

Were those thwarted by heightened security measures? Or the traditional measures? Or by better intelligence?
I\’m certain that some changes have made a difference, but I haven\’t recalled anything being thwarted by the new pains at the security checkpoints.
