For the second year in a row, President Bush has been too busy to throw out the first pitch at the Nationals opener. Yes, the guy who has time enough to spend 2/3 of his time in office (I forget the exact number) at his vacation home cannot spend thirty planned minutes away from his desk?

A White House spokesperson said “It most assuredly is not because he’s afraid of getting booed.” Riiiight. Last year, Vice President Cheney filled in for Bushey Poo and received a stadium full of boos.

Instead, newly elected Mayor Adrian Fenty, who strongly opposed the new stadium plans, will be tossing out the first. Yay for irony!

In all the years that presidents have been invited to throw the opening pitch for a DC team, only twice have they not done so. First? Woodrow Wilson, who was busy entering our country in to World War I. Second? Richard Nixon; that Watergate thing tied him down a bit.

Oh Bushey Poo, we don’t like you.
