Welp, my running for this season might just about be over. I’ve been getting shin pain as I increased my mileage and today it became ubearable. Oddly, my destination was the same as last time this occured and it’s a destination I rarely target.

Anyway, I managed to hobble (walking) home. I’ll be taking the weekend off, heading to a new running store for new shoes on Monday, and giving it a shot. This is my 2nd set of these shoes and I just don’t think they work for me. We thought the first set of shin pain was from them being worn out, but these new ones only have a few months and 80 miles on them and I can’t stand running. Yay for throwing money away!

If the new shoes don’t work out, I’m retiring from running for good. I may look in to trail racing, which is much easier on shins or attempt to get back in to mountain bike racing. Sigh… why can’t things ever be easy?
