<span style=”font-weight: bold;”>Milestone #1: Ran 10 miles. This wasn’t anything special, but it is the only time I’ve ever run in the double digits unless you count the time I ran home from school after my coach told me to. Turns out he was joking… Anyway, the run went dfwell. It was a slow pace down the canal and in to Glover Archibald Park.

<span style=”font-weight: bold;”>Milestone #2: A sub-6:00 mile! Nothing compared to my prime (8 years ago), but still significant. I ran a 5:57 with 87->90->92->88 splits. I should be able to drop this below 5:30 once I start with my speed training (Caitlin and I plan on getting in 5k shape after this half-marathon).

So running is going well. I think my original pace estimate for the half-marathon may have been a little fast (I think it was 7:30) so I’ll need to reevaluate as it gets closed. Currently, I think 8:00 pace would be pretty attainable, but can I go faster? Maybe starting with the 8:00 group and then picking it up over the last couple of miles (if I can) is the best method of attack?
