This past night has been a bad one… read further for details:

  • Dinner – Ordered some Udon from Wasabisito around 6:15pm. At 7:15pm it had not yet arrived so we give them a call and someone says in completely broken English “No deliver today, pickup only.” Great, thanks. You had contact information, but you didn’t bother getting in touch? We hop in the car to go pick it up the drive is a nightmare (see below), enter the store, speak with the manager and he’s confused… The order went out and should have been delivered already. He contacts the driver, driver says he dropped it off… Joy. Head back home, and two hours after ordering, eat our food.
  • The Ride – As soon as we leave our driveway, we’re greeted by someone with their highbeams who is going like 10 miles per hour; apparently look at addresses, but come on, highbeams? Further down the road, we’re cut off by a bus that decided to pull away from where he sits 24/7 right as we came by, but without looking. Once we’re at the shopping center, everybody decides to step off the curb without looking. Luckily, Caitlin was driving; I wasn’t in the best mood.
  • Sickness – I had my flu shot yesterday. Apparently, I’m one of the lucky ones who develops a fever from it. Perfect timing since the 5k I’ve been training for is Thanksgiving morning, I cannot attend Thanksgiving now since I can’t risk getting my grandmother or the baby that I got the shot for in the first place. I’m not going to work tomorrow; burning a PTO day when I don’t have too many to spare since I started working there mid-year.
  • Hospital – Gallbladder problems run in my family. Following pregancy, apparently it is common for them to crap out. Sure enough, my sister’s did and she has been scheduling removal. Tonight, she found herself in intense pain, went to the hospital, and has been admitted for emergency removal this morning.

Good times, good times. I’m sitting here with a fever of 100.4, sweating profusely, but with goosebumps. My big plans for this week are completely shot, and sister is in the hospital. On the bright side, this gives me some more time to get where I need to be for me sub-20 5k… Not sure I’m in the shape I need to be, but it would have been close. I’ll shoot for a Jingle Bell 5k or something…
