I went ahead and compiled all the data from my training log by month. What I found was interesting… Until recently, I really hadn’t been working out much at all. Now, a 60-mile running month seems slack.

<div style=”text-align: center;”>

<div style=”text-align: left;”>With the increased training, you can see my weight dropping like a rock despite me feeling like it has been pretty steady for the past couple months. I think I’m just at one of those plateaus where my metabolism has not yet kicked in to the next higher gear.

As far as my times go, I have dropped two minutes off my 5k time from a year ago, over a minute off my time from six months ago, and probably about 30 seconds off my mile time (I haven’t run it hard in four months).

I look much better, I feel much better, and getting fast and competitive again is pretty exciting!

I still have the sub-20 5k goal to hit, but I’ve attained all my athletic goals for this year. I have goals planned for next year, but I’ll go over them in my yearly wrap-up/goal setting post.
