My phone is missing and has been for around a week now. I had it turned on silent, which surely doesn’t help things. I have a very strong feeling it is somewhere in the house, but no luck yet.

I must admit, I do not really miss having my phone. One less thing to pack in to my pockets, I don’t have the feeling that I must always be connected to “the net,” and if I am able to get rid of it for good, I can save $50/month.

The only downside is when I head to the racetrack ~5 weekends a year; I’d hate to get stranded somewhere without a means of communicating. Additionally, I don’t know anybody’s phone number… I’d have to get some sort of phone book.

So while my phone is gone, I’m not really losing any sleep over it and I certainly don’t plan on setting aside time to find it. If it shows up, it shows up. In the meantime, don’t get cranky when my dead phone shoots you straight to voicemail and I never get back to you.

If it really is gone for good, I’ll likely hold off on getting another (or maybe just get a pay-as-you-go) until a 3G iPhone hits the streets.

<span style=”font-weight: bold;”>Link: 10 Reasons to Throw Away Your Cell Phone [Wired]
