I have a whole slew of backed up movie reviews, but I watched this one tonight so I’d rather finish it off while it’s hot.

I was told I had to see this one to solidify my standing amongst the rank of dorks worldwide as it is George Lucas' first directing role [as a professional] and a story that he wrote [as a student].

Unlike other films I’ve seen from Lucas, this one falls in to the “bizarro sci-fi” category. Through most of the film, you’re left wondering what in the hell is going on. It’s a very futuristic, big-brotherish society, ruled by pills, everything monitored… And we follow the main character as he attempts to escape. It’s all very odd and I would likely have enjoyed it more with a side of drugs, but it all strangely came together as a work of art in the end…

<span style=”font-weight: bold;”>Grade: B-
Comments: Try to borrow it; I wouldn’t say it is a must-watch… Some dork yo know likely owns it.
