On TV right now. Far and away the best movie ever made. I haven’t seen it i a few years… It’s just as great as I remember it. A true work of art… One-liners all over the place, great characters (even the ones who are on it for a matter of seconds are so well developed… by seeing them and hearing them utter a single word, you know all there is to know about them), an amazing world, and simply a great story. Creepy, funny, dramatic, happy, sad… It’s got it all. Yes, my favorite movie ever.

Some oddities that I’ve noticed as an adult, but missed as a kid: 1) Mike Teevee’s father says he’ll get him a Colt .45 when he’s 12, 2) Grandpa Joe bought tobacco for who knows how long while the family was stuck eating cabbage water, 3) Augustus used to be huge. The obesity epidemic has so greatly changed what we think of as fat; he doesn’t look very big at all anymore… Sad.

As is always the case with a movie this old, I did some searching for where the actors are now. Luckily, somebody else has done the work for me. Enjoy! Note: Charlie is a distance runner, and at 50 years old he’s quite a bit faster than me.
