Woke up a few times in the early morning as Caitlin was getting ready. Around 8:30, I got up for good. Pounded a bowl of Kashi GoLean Crunch Honey Almond Flax, reviewed my to-do list, and head outside to start work on getting the Civic back in to inspectable condition (install stock seatbelt, install stock steering wheel, install stock spoiler). A bit under an hour later (I messed around with some other things), she’s ready. I just returned inside, reviewed some stuff about Alan’s failure yesterday, and here I am.

Redesign Update
Step #1 of the redesign was going to be porting everything over to WordPress as it has a ton more support than CuteNews, despite being a bit more simple. Unfortunately, due to the way CuteNews stores information (flat files), porting it to anything is a MAJOR task; basically, manual. I have no desire to manually repost 750+ items so I went in search of something that would do it for me.

Fortunately, I came across Other-Ext-WP. Unfortunately, it is no longer being developed and seems somewhat limited; it destroys any and all formatting in my posts. Whitespace, images, etc. It also doesn’t seem to want to port my comments, which is a huge issue to me. I’ve contacted the developer and he’s looking in to my particular issue… So moving to a new back-end is on hold for today’s work.

Instead, I’m going to be learning me some Javascript and hopefully putting out a new layout this evening. This is my current inspiration so look for something similar.

Next
As stated early, I have a ~20 item to-do list. I think before anything else, I’m going to head to Rock Creek fora 7-miler. I’ll then head to Home Depot for a few items, come home, clean the garage, an d do some yard work (redig bed “ditches,” treat for mosquitoes, replace a gutter drain, plant some herbs, put our hoses in to pots, and hide a key outside (I’ve had to break in ~5 times since we’ve moved here… each time it has been a bit too easy).

After all that sweaty stuff, shower, shave, read, play video games, do some laundry, and finally attend my first DC Road Runners board meeting.

Look for another update some time after lunch!
