Not sure what my exact plans or goals are for next year, but I do have a schedule already in the works (yes, includes stuff for the end of this year). The ones listed as training runs are races that are free for me to enter (DC Road Runners member), but part of a Winter racing series. I think if I just enter them and run at a decent clip, I’ll have a shot at winning the series.

My first goal of the year is the Cherry Blossom 10-miler. I think a 1:05 would make me happy, but maybe I should go loftier? The exact time is not set in stone yet, but it will only get faster if I do make changes. After that? Lord knows. Continue on to run a fast half marathon? I wouldn’t mind putting in a sub-1:30, but I’m fairly certain I could just about do that today… not much of a goal, eh? Continue on from that for another marathon attempt? I really would like to qualify for Boston… I’m going to be looking at races in the northern part of the continent during or near the end of Summer. The Twin Cities has been at the top of the list on a number of searches I’ve done, but I’m also going to take a serious look at anything in New England, Canada, and the Pacific Northwest. All I know is I don’t want to do the Marine Corps next year.

12/14/08 – Bread Run 10k (Glen Echo, MD) – Potentially just a training run.
12/20/08 – Lifetime Fitness Reindeer Run 5k (Chantilly, VA)
01/03/09 – Al Lewis 10-miler (Kensington, MD) – Training run.
02/01/09 – Bluemont Park 12k (Arlington, VA) – Might race it.
02/22/09 – Club Challenge 10-miler (Columbia, MD) – Might race it for the club’s sake.
03/01/09 – Burke Lake 12k (Fairfax Station, VA) – Training run.
03/08/09 – Fort Hunt Park 10k (Alexandria, VA) – Training run.
04/05/09 – Cherry Blossom 10-miler (Washington, DC)
