A new iPod Shuffle was released today. The hype? No buttons! Except… there are… on the headphone cord. Users who hate Apple earbuds and opt for something else? I guess we’re all lost customers. Old = Better. Stupid, stupid move. This will not sell well and we’ll see something similar to the previous generation come out next… Similar to when they went with the box design for the Nano and now we’re back with the upright, slim design. Stupids. Honestly, when I saw leaked shots a few days ago, I thought it was all a hoax or photochop… It’s just so unbelievable that usability would be thrown out the window like this. Also funny, the remote on the supplied earbuds are apparently located at chin-level. Hurray for getting slapped in the face the entire time you’re out for a run!
<div style=”text-align: center;”>

<div style=”text-align: left;”>
Edit: Did some reading. Apparently there is a dongle that gives you buttons for an extra $20. You’re now looking at a $99 Shuffle. At that point, I’ll happily pay another $50 for a Nano with twice the storage space, the ability to choose exactly what I want to listen to, and VIDEO! Sigh… I’ll shut up and be a dumb consumer now.
