137.54 miles run, which is my 2nd highest month of all-time. That’s with feeling crappy a few days in there. Not bad!
56.6 miles biked, which is my 3rd highest month of all-time. Not sure how this happened, but I won’t complain. I think it might be that I actually cross-trained on days I had scheduled for it in my running plan.
No swimming. I really need to work on that. With the pools opening soon, I’ll be out there a lot.
I didn’t lose any weight, but I am 10lbs lighter than this time last year. My loss usually comes once it gets hot. I also ate like garbage this month… Caitlin went to England twice and always comes back with delicious candy that I can’t pass up.
I only ran a single race, the Burke Lake 12k. It was a nasty day, but I managed to run 49:18 (6:36 pace) for a 2:25 PR over a race of the same distance the month before.
Most notably, I did a lot of track work this month and my speed really improved. In 400 repeats I not only increased in quantity, but I dropped from an average of 91 seconds to 86. 800 and 1000 repeats I didn’t have a baseline for, but they were similar to “86” performance. Finally, 1600 repeats dropped from 6:30ish in January to 6:05ish a couple weeks back. I can’t wait to use the speed in my next 5k!
Cherry Blossom 10 Miler this weekend, 5K Fridays on April 17th and 24th, Arlington Science Focus 5K on May 2nd, Five Boro Bike Tour the day after, Westfield 5K the weekend after that, Marine Corps Historic Half the weekend after that, and then only two more races before the San Fran Marathon, which I’m supposed to be training for all the while.
