Went to the doctor for my hip and hamstring issues on Wednesday. He confirmed my suspicion that I’m <span style=”font-weight: bold;”>jacked up and totally understood why I ran the half marathon last weekend; he used to be a semi-pro water-skier and stress fractured his tibia while practicing one day. Not wanting to miss time, he visit a friend of his who did cast work, they came up with a removable cast, and he removed it any time he was in public. His girlfriend didn’t know about his broken leg, his teammates didn’t know, his family didn’t know… At least I’m not <span style=”font-style: italic;”>that crazy.

Anyway, I have been feeling kind of antsy/lazy that I haven’t been out frolicking in the awesome weather, but having him tell me I shouldn’t somehow makes it all better.

His diagnosis? My hamstrings are pretty badly damaged and will require 4-6 weeks of zero running. My hip is a result of my legs being different lengths. Since I’ve had this issue a while, we’ve corrected it a number of times, but I keep going back to broken, it’s time for a permanent solution (orthotics).

So… If you’ve ever wanted to watch TV, play some video games, see a movie, or catch dinner with me after work, you have at least another month to make it happen
