April was a bad month. I went on three trips, attended a wedding, did a ton of consulting work, and had a really good friend laid off. That all meant LOTS and LOTS of eating well. Too well.

I typically hover around 180lbs when not in training, to which this past eight months can attest (wow! a year is closing in!). Over the course of April, I noticed my mid-section growing, and growing, and growing. I hopped on the scale after my trip this weekend and saw 186. TOO MUCH.

Starting today, I’m getting back into the “eating natural things” diet. Lots of greens, lots of water, less alcohol, more fish than red meat… I did it a few months back and saw great results.

What’s a goal without a clear finish line? The goal will be 175 by the end of August. If I’m able to start training again, that should be cake. If not, well, I’ll just have to eat that much better. Ready? Go!
