Letting a little bit of my geek slip out here… This past weekend, in the midst of a heated battle with Heather in Scene It? Box Office Smash (we split a pair of games, which is our norm), I obtained my 20,000th gamerpoint.

Five years in the making… Wow, XBOX 360 is five years old? Hardly leaves me wanting for more and there’s nothing new on the horizon. I was pretty excited for the moment.

Anyway, if you know what a gamerscore is, you know I’m the man 😉 With the ability to earn 1,000 points per fully completed game (this RARELY happens as some of the “achievements” are ridiculously time-consuming), this is no small task. At the very least, it means 20 fully completed games. Not just beat the story, but do stupid things like run around collecting 500 pigeons randomly scattered about a virtual city. I never go out of my way to complete tasks such as that, but it does give you an idea how difficult some of these are to obtain. XBOX.com says I’ve played 132 games so that means (20,064/132=152) I’ve only “completed” each game ~15% of the way. Take that with a grain of salt as a fair number of the titles are “arcade” games, which only have a possible 200 points, but it still gives you a decent idea.

Ummm… I guess that’s it. With how my gaming has gone recently, I’d say we’ve got another solid two years or more until I hit 30k. Wait for it…
