I have to give Sly credit, he put together a monster cast. It’s for this reason I even added this film to my queue; it didn’t receive the best of reviews, but still, a 6.8 on IMDB? That’s perfectly watchable, especially when you grew up with these guys in all your action flicks.

Unfortunately, nostalgia can only take you so far. The geriatrics simply don’t have what it takes to make an exciting, fun, pureblooded action flick any longer. You can put makeup on them, you can put them on roids, you can do all amount of fancy camera work, but at the end of the day, the guys are still sagging, still struggling through their moves, and still the same old shite actors they’ve always been.

I’ve never expected much plot out of a movie such as this, but lacking anything else to keep me interested, it really needed one. What it delivered was even worse than average for a movie of this genre. Awful, awful, and more awful.

At the end of the day, I gave it a single star on Netflix, which is reserved for films I turn off mid-viewing. I didn’t do that with this one because every now and then they’d throw in a cameo of some random action-star of a time gone by… If I could, I’d throw the movie an extra half star for that quality.

Steer clear. This one needs to be buried.

Interesting bit… One of the actors recorded his best NFL season with the Redskins. No, I don’t remember that tackle.
