Another duathlon, another win. Again, unfortunately, I was mostly racing myself as I won by 14 or so minutes with a finish time of 1:34. I did the off-road version because I was able to convince Rebecca that duathlon is fun and she should try it; she placed third in the on-road version the day before.

I’m not sure I’m going to continue the local duathlon thing as it’s expensive and I can do solo time trials on my own for free. I don’t need more medals, shirts, towels, or bread. Or perhaps I call this season a success and look to doing the longer distances or adding swimming next year? All was not great this weekend, however, as my mom’s trusty old RAV4 may have given the last of what it had to give on my way home on Sunday. The transmission is likely done and the car is valued at a similar number to the repair cost. I’m going to take the repairs slowly at home until I eliminate a number of cheap and relatively easy fixes, after which point I likely take it to a shop, see what they have to say, and send it to the junkyard. We’ll live with a single car for now.
